El tema Migración y desplazamiento de los pueblos indígenas de este 2018 se centrará en la situación actual de los territorios indígenas, las principales causas de las migraciones, la circulación transfronteriza y los desplazamientos, con especial atención en el tema de los pueblos indígenas que viven en las zonas urbanas y fuera de sus países. Asimismo, se tratarán los desafíos y cómo revitalizar las identidades de los pueblos indígenas y alentar la protección de sus derechos dentro o fuera de sus territorios tradicionales.
Te presentamos nuestro programa especial sobre defensores y defensoras de la tierra y el territorio. Con este queremos evidenciar los logros y desafíos que enfrentan las y los compañeros Indígenas que han tomado las riendas de la lucha por la madre tierra y la preservación de la vida de sus comunidades aun así vayan en contra del poder y sus vidas se vean amenazadas por el peligro que significa enfrentarle.
Alrededor del mundo esta fecha ha recibido diferentes nombres pero desde la visión de los pueblos originarios de América coincidimos en señalar que no es un día para celebrar sino para denunciar y no olvidar uno de los mayores genocidios de la humanidad, sin embargo conmemoramos la gesta heroica de resistencia de nuestros ancestros quienes derramaron su sangre por la defensa de sus derechos.
El trabajo de las y los defensores de Derechos Indígenas hoy ha tomado fuerza en muchos países, y ha recibido el reconocimiento y apoyo nacional e internacional.
